Hair Loss Medical Treatments

We have different practices for hair loss and its treatment in our clinic.

PRP Hair Treatment

PRP stands for “Platelet Rich Plasma” and it is the application of platelets derived from your own blood through special operations to the specific areas during and after hair transplantation.
It has been observed that in the patients with PRP treated hair transplant, the rate of adherence of follicles to the transplant area increases and wound healing after surgery accelerates. It can be used for therapeutic purposes in males or females whose hair is sparse but not completely lost by genetic or seasonal reasons.

In addition, successful results are also obtained in the case of alopecia areata which is regional hair loss. PRP system can be applied to each and every hair transplantation case. As PRP procedure does not contain any substance apart from your own blood, there is absolutely no risk of any allergic reaction or infection after the treatment.

PRP, “Platelet Rich Plasma” is a blood by-product used to accelerate wound healing all over the world since the 1970s. This effect of PRP is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the United States.

Hair Mesotherapy / Hair Biostimulation

Hair mesotherapy is a treatment method applied to the scalp with hair in order to stop the hair loss and revitalize by activating some of the hair follicles under the skin.

Hair biostimulation is the injection of selected drug mixtures in small doses with special needles and a special technique locally to the deep dermal layer of the skin after determining the cause of hair loss. Stem cells activated with this particular mixture of aminoacids, vitamins and minerals are provided with nutrients. Thus, instead of short-term changes, permanent constructions in the long-term can make hair, which is weakened and depleted, healthy again, scalp blood circulation can be activated, lymphatic drainage can be arranged, and collagen structure can be strengthened.

During hair loss treatment, mesotherapy/biostimulation sessions for feeding the accelerated metabolisms of all stem cells that are activated take 15 minutes and are performed by our specialists.

Finasteride - Medical Treatment

Finasteride is a 5α-reductase type 2 inhibitor. This reduces the conversion of testosterone to dehydrotestosterone (DHT).

Significant increases in hair count and thickness are observed in 80% of people using Finasteride. Because it allows the hair to thicken, it stops hair loss. It does not bring back lost hair. It does not cause hair to grow in the body.

Its onset of action is about 4-6 months. It should be used for 2 years to get maximum effect. Continuous use is recommended to keep the effect.

Although Finasteride is effective in each area where hair is thinned, it is more effective on the mid and top areas.

The recommended dose for Finasteride is 1 mg per day. There is no known drug interaction.

Finasteride should not be used by pregnant women and patients with liver disease.

Reported side effects of finasteride include: Decrease or increase in libido (1.9%), erectile dysfunction (1.3%), and ejaculatory dysfunction (1%) at rates given. In some patients, drug side effects continue for about 3 months after stop use of drug. The purpose of Finasteride is to reduce prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels and can rarely cause gynecomastia. Finasteride is the first drug approved by the FDA for hair. Firstly, it is used to balance hair loss, protect existing hair and reduce hair loss.
